We honored another State Champion today! Tucker Bohn, Culinary Arts student, represented Buford High School in the state championship wrestling tournament last weekend. He came back home a winner! His record this year was 47-1! Help us congratulate Tucker on his awesome achievement!

Horticulture students designed and built model greenhouses and measured the effects of various plastics on their builds and efficiency against the ambient temperature.






Landyn Filliben and Gracie Boone will be representing the Firefighting Pathway at SkillsUSA next month. Here they are mastering rope skills in preparation for competition. Good luck to them both!

What do we do when we have a student who is a state champion? We celebrate of course! Nichya Pemberton, Business Education student, represented LHS in the state championship wrestling tournament this past weekend. She came back home a state champion! Check out her list of accomplishments and help us congratulate her!
- Girls State Champion in the 170 pound weight class by pinning her opponent in the final round in the first period in 1 minute and 56 seconds
- First Lady Bruin State Champion in Wrestling
- First Female Wrestling State Champion for LCSD

Our Early Childhood Education Pathway is sending two students, Zamari Howie and Natalya King to compete at SkillsUSA in March. They will demonstrate knowledge through a written exam as well as a skills performance that includes an interview, creating and implementing a lesson plan, and reading a literary reading of a children's book. We wish these young ladies the best of luck!

One more for the teachers as we celebrate CTE month! Teachers share how you foster a sense of belonging in your classroom!


Career Development Facilitators from Andrew Jackson, Buford, Indian Land, LCSD Career Center and Lancaster High Schools met at the Career Center on Friday morning. Their meeting began with breakfast prepared by our Culinary Arts program and ended with a little pampering by our Cosmetology program.

Mr. Catoe and his Automotive Technology 2 students had a lot going on in the shop this week. Some students were working on a transmission, one was doing an alignment, and a few others were helping on a race car.






Next up going to SkillsUSA is Xavier Brunet from the Machine Tool program. He is preparing for competition using the Mastercam program. Good luck Xavier!



There is always something going on in Auto Collision! This shop stays busy working on multiple jobs at all times! New instructor Adam Yarborough has been a great addition to the Phoenix family and does a great job teaching students! Here are just a few of the projects currently going in the shop.
